Design Constraints and Mechanical System Limitations

The original design required all ductwork to be located in the ceiling space between the hard ceiling and the IBS. This space did not allow sufficient room for fan filter units, piping, and ductwork to be properly maintained. The original scope also required the air handling unit to be located in the IBS, but site investigation determined this was not feasible above the pharmacy space, requiring a design revision.

Collaborative Design Corrections and System Reconfiguration

FSI worked closely with subcontractors and the Designer of Record to resolve design conflicts as they arose. The plenum was relocated directly above the reconfigured rooms within the IBS, and the air handling unit was redesigned as a rooftop u
